Alan Powell has worked as a bartender. He’s also been a partner at Cape Cod BioFuels and has a background in sales and marketing. Now he has combined his business expertise and his concern with seeing too many people drive impaired to start Safe & Secure Livery, a transportation service out of his Hanover home that provides rides for impaired drivers, no questions asked. We talked to Powell for this story.
Q. Why did you start this?
A. I was a bartender and a bachelor, and liked to go out and celebrate. When I didn’t drink, I’d often give people rides home, but there was no option for getting their cars home as well. So I started this business to do that.
